The intended definition of a qualified environmental professional is a professional who applies: a high level of environmental knowledge; understanding of the cross-disciplinary nature of environmental management; and skills, to protect and enhance the environment in a sustainable way. He/she must also behave and conduct their work with integrity, adhering to HKIQEP's Values, Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct.
Apart from a solid foundation of environmental knowledge and skills, qualified environmental professionals may also be specialists or experts in more specific areas within the larger environmental realm, such as in air greenhouse gas, water, waste, energy, etc.
